How to play
Flip two, keep the pair
Every card hides one of the nine Roots & Talks characters. Turn over two cards: if they match, they stay open and your pair counter goes up. If not, they flip back — and you lose two moves.
The round ends when all eight pairs are found. Your score rewards a fast, tidy game: each extra move costs you points, and so does every second.
Tips
- Say the name out loud when you flip a character. Naming is most of the memory work.
- Work in a pattern — top-left to bottom-right — so you always know where to look next.
- Do not rush the second flip. A wrong pair costs two extra moves; a careful pause costs a second.
- Play with a child and let them narrate. "Dino the dinosaur, Filiz the elephant" said aloud is how the names stick.

Why a memory game for kids?
A matching game is the gentlest way into a second language. Children are not asked to produce the word, only to recognise the picture — and recognition comes long before speech. Adding the name on top ("that's Pingucan, the penguin") turns a game into vocabulary.
The cast is mixed: five children, a teenager and three animals. The animals are often the hook for younger players.
Classrooms & Turkish school
Teachers: the game is free, has no ads and no login, and works on a smartboard. Use it as a five-minute warm-up before a Turkish lesson, or as a quiet activity for early finishers.
The characters are also available on stickers, notebooks and puzzles for classroom rewards.

Character Memory — FAQ
What age is this memory game for?
Roughly 4 to 10 — but the scoring is honest enough that adults still try to beat it. Younger children can play with an adult reading the character names.
How many cards are there?
Sixteen cards, eight pairs, drawn from nine characters — so the lineup changes every round and repeated plays stay fresh.
Does it work on a tablet?
Yes. The cards are large, the tap targets are generous and it works on iPad, Android tablets and phones in portrait or landscape.
Is there anything to buy or sign up for?
No. The game is free, ad-free and account-free. Your best score is stored only in your browser.
