Çay Tower — stack the tea glasses

The most Turkish object there is, stacked as high as your nerve allows. Tap to drop, keep the tower wide, and do not stop for a refill.

Tap anywhere on the play area, or press Space. Best tower height is saved in this browser.

How to play

Drop. Trim. Repeat.

A glass slides across the top of the screen. Tap when it lines up with the glass below — the overlapping part survives, the overhang is sliced away. The tower gets narrower, the glass gets faster, and the whole thing tilts toward disaster.

Every glass you add is a point. Perfect drops give a bonus and — after three in a row — actually widen the tower back out. That is your only way back from the edge.

Tactics

  • Do not chase perfect drops early. Survive to ten glasses first; speed rises slowly, precision does not.
  • Watch the edges, not the middle. The left edge of the falling glass is what decides the cut.
  • Tap once, commit. Double taps are how good towers die.
  • Breathe on the narrow ones. Once the glass is under half width the game is 90% nerve.

A note on the tulip glass

Turkish tea is not served in a mug. It comes in ince belli — "thin-waisted" — a tulip-shaped glass that lets you see the colour of the brew and hold it by the rim without burning your fingers. Two of them is a conversation; five is a wedding.

The glass is also, structurally, a terrible thing to stack. Which is exactly why it makes a good game.

Çay Tower — FAQ

How do you play Çay Tower?

A tea glass slides side to side above your tower. Tap the screen — or press Space — to drop it. Whatever hangs over the edge is sliced off, and the next glass is narrower. Miss the tower completely and the round ends.

What counts as a perfect drop?

Landing within a few pixels of the glass below. Perfect drops keep the tower wide and add a bonus, so precision beats speed after the first ten glasses.

Is it hard on a phone?

It is one-thumb friendly: tap anywhere on the glass play area. The controls are deliberately generous and there is no swipe required.

Why tea glasses?

Because the ince belli tulip glass is the most recognisable Turkish object there is — and nine of them stacked is already a family gathering.

Stacked it? Sip it.

The tea glasses you keep dropping exist in real life — and on mugs, tees and puzzles.
